Title: Our Materialistic World
“But Daddy! I really want the black BMW Z4 convertible, not the white BMW X5 SUV. SUV’s are ugly and ‘mom cars’,” said the almost 16-year-old as she made a huge scene in the car dealership by huffing and puffing and stomping her feet. Needless to say, her father was less than happy with his daughter; however, with the fakest smile, he politely said to the car salesman, “We’ll just stop by another day.” The daughter stormed out of the dealership, swearing loudly, making an even bigger scene than before. Here is a little taste of a similar situation that occurred on one of MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen episodes. I live in a fairly wealthy community and I see kids like that every day. The student parking lot at the high school near my looks like an exotic car dealership and most of the kids don't realize how fortunate they are that their parents can afford to buy them Porsches and Mercedes for their sixteenth birthdays.
ReplyDeleteYeah that is exactly how my high school parking lot is too! It's insane how many nice cars there are even in the senior and junior lots, let alone the sophomore parking lot.
