I want to do my paper essentially on greediness when it comes to a monetary reward. Why people feel the need to put others lives in danger beats me so I want to research this topic a little more. I guess I could also tie in how karma can be the biggest bitch when it comes to this topic. I feel that karma is huge when it comes to this kind of thing. I want to find what makes people “pull the trigger” when it comes to these kinds of things. Maybe do a little bit of research about the way people think when it comes to money? I want to understand what makes people do these sorts of things and why they think it’s okay to do them.

  1. I am actually doing my paper on greed too. I have been watching the Firefly series and observing Jayne in all the episodes is what made me think of the greed. What episode are you doing your paper on? If you any help with ideas let me know and if you have any ideas you want to share feel free.

  2. Yeah I think that greed directly correlates with Jayne. I'm doing my paper on episode 9 "Ariel" because I feel that's when he reaches his "breaking point" and that's why he rats Simon and River out to the Feds, because the money is just too good. But yes, I will definitely let you know if I find any good articles, etc. So far my articles haven't been too helpful; they only really give me a couple good quotes that I can use.

  3. Thats the episode I am doing too. I am doing that episode for the same reason. His greed was always noticeable but in that episode it just showed how greedy he is. It also showed how his greed made him make a terrible decision and it can be related to the real world pretty well. All the articles I have read so far have had little bits and pieces that I can use but nothing too impressive.

  4. Many things can lead to greed putting lives in danger. Definately a good topic to write an extensive paper on. You could branch off into different causes as well, for instance, poverty, addiction, chemical imbalance, simple ignorance, etc.
